Could be I don't understand correctly, but do you mean you opened port 4070 from WAN to LAN (incoming)? That's a rather huge security hole, isn't it? IIRC you are only the second person in this thread to mention this port. I have it closed, no uPNP or something . it's always closed. No problems with speed. Just out of curousity, I opened the port for all traffic from all sources to my LMS for a short period, to see if I could see any speed difference. I didn't notice anything. I can't imagine that this is a common problem? Michael Herger didn't even know where the port was for...
