I've managed to narrow this problem down. And it's now repeatable. I'm using the Local player plugin and Squeezelite is the player and the selectable device, I then also use a Touch as UI (for having a hardware remote) - the Touch uses Squeezelite as the player. Now, I found out that the problem with the fingerprint reader waking the screen and then pausing the currently playing song, this only happens if I had used the Touches hardware remote to skip from the previous song. And this is fully repeatable.
