As you noted above, it's difficult to reproduce the "fault" without ready access to know region-restricted streams. But to at least bed down when I am so far, I did a systematic run though of all my ways of accessing Beeb radio via LMS, both with and without VPN, using R3 as the test bed. I also checked beforehand that this laptop, sitting in Paris, can get direct website access to almost all BBC TV and radio with the VPN active, and a lot of it without the VPN. But, without the VPN, region restrictions - particularly on TV stuff, do kick in. Anyway here - at some length! - is what I found. I'll post a separate message with the assorted error logs relating to this test series. So, via my LMS setup I have 5 ways of trying to get R3 streams, and I can also try each of the 5 ways with and without the VPN.
