I still have an issue though (but I can't say if it's important fidelity wise), I can't play Soptify music in direct OGG. It's converting to PCM.
From a sound quality point of view they are identical. It's just that in Ogg streaming the decoding would only happen on the player, whereas in PCM mode the decoding happens in the spotty helper. Therefore the bandwidth used is higher with PCM.
What version of the spotty helper application are you using? I thought there should be a 0.20 available with Ogg streaming (check Settings/Advanced/Spotty).
I guess "Ogg Vorbis" shouldn't be disabled in the settings. Am I missing a specific Perl module? I'm on FreeNAS-11.2-U4.1, LMS 7.9.2, the SB is a Receiver. I haven't tried with others yet (Radios and Booms).
No, you're probably missing the latest helper. How did you install it? FreeNAS is FreeBSD based, for which I do not provider the helper.
