If the phone wasn’t on the same network it wouldn’t work at all, that’s not the case. All 5 squeezebox can be seen on each phone, just not at the same time.
Why don't you just double-check? I'm pretty sure I know better what I'm talking about than you do... Spotify does list all of my devices, no matter where I am. I can control my home SB from the road or the office. I've tried to describe how things work several times before. But you'd have to read stuff.
