Thanks. Version 2.6.5 works - I can change the settings, however once I
save (which I could not do before), the program gets "stuck" with the
spinning wheel. I can however at this point play music...

Concerning the latest versions:

Happens every time I start SLX manually or otherwise? Yes/No >
everytime I start SLX manually
AutoStart Enabled in SLX? Yes/No. > no. I cannot save any settings, so
I cannot enable AutoStart (I think)
Happens on Windows restart, but not on user logout/login? Yes/No >
happens anytime...
In your startup area (See Task Manager, Startup tab), do you have the
Squeezelite-X AutoStarter there, and not Squeezelite-X itself? Yes/No >
I have SlxStarter enabled. If I disable it, no difference when I startup
SLX manually
Do you have multiple network cards, either physical or virtual?
Yes/No > No, just one ethernet RJ45 connection
Do you have multiple routers, for example a separate modem and
wireless router? Yes/No > Yes, I have my provider's router and a
wireless router as well
Is the client and server on the same subnet? Yes/No > Yes
Do you have a firewall on the client or server that may be blocking
traffic? Yes/No > Yes, I have Windows Defender on, but I tried with all
settings off, and there is no change
