I think that it would be good to provide an example that is basic and
relevant to the needs of classical music listeners.

In practice, it is far more common for me to make selections until I
have picked a single performance of a multi-movement and then play all
the movements of that work in the list (in the right order.)

If I do want to play a single movement, I select it from the next list
and click play. I see absolutely no point in having another menu level
below movement (or song. I have the movement name in the Track name or
Song tag. I don't have a tag named "Movement".)

It is useful to see some context about what you have already selected
as you navigate down through the levels of menus. It would seem
natural to put that context on the top line.

The question of what you display while a music file is playing is
nearly separate.

I'd suggest that you use a separate example to illustrate your ideas
about Movement vs. Song.

I use a Sub-Genre tag to separate Orchestral works from Concerti and
Chamber music. On a PC screen, that shortens the lists of works
enough. On the 2 line SB screen, It might be better to have finer
categories such as

Sym. 1-15
Sym. 16-30
Sym. 31-60
Sym. 61-90
Sym. 91-104

for Haydn symphonies or

PC 1-10
PC 11-19
PC 20-27

for Mozart Piano Concerti.

If you provide support for using custom tags and menu structures thast
can use them, the user can define his tags and menus to fit his needs.

For Chopin's works, I put the type of work in the Work Name Field and
the name of the individual work in the Track Name (or Song field.) It
isn't perfect but it allows me to use the same menu structure as for
multi-movement works.
