The performance will depend on your hardware, number of tags scanned
and number of tracks in your library which have the scanned tags.

There will be performance impacts both due to number of tracks and
number of scanned tags. The Mixed Tag module with the default
configuration adds about 10 tags per track (if all tags exists), so if
you are not using the Mixed Tag module in any configuration I would
recommend that you disable the automatic scanning option for it and hit
the Clear button beside it.

I've tested the performance a bit with a 40000 tracks library on my
Intel Core 2 Duo T5500 based laptop with 2GB RAM and it worked fast
enough for me.

In case there is some operation or menu that you feel is starting to
get slow I would like to know it, this way I can try to optimize the
database indexes.
