Yes.  And got the following options as found in post #4.   That would
suggest that the DAC is being recognized to an extent. 

Others have suggested using a generic "hw:CARD=DAC,DEV=0"  string, but
when I do that Squeezelite fails to run.   Choosing any of the displayed
options allows Squeezelite to run, but does not *activate* the DAC.  It
should illuminate one of the sample rate LEDs.

This was just an experiment to compare an RPi4 with the ultraRendu
currently in use.   How close in sound quality is it to the more
expensive model?

In the garage system system, I've used an RPi3 with an Allo DigiOne
board satisfactorily for a number of years.

Perhaps I should just acknowledge the RPi4 is not compatible with the
DAC8 - even though other Linux based streamers work fine with it.  ARC
uses an Aurender for their testing.  No worries as it sure didn't cost
much!
