Highly unlikely that you will ever be able to run 8.x on that NAS but my
advice would be get a Pi4, stick piCorePlayer on it and set it up as
server only LMS at 8.3.x and point it at the files on the NAS via
CIFS/NFS. This will keep you going until it is time to replace the NAS.
You can continue to use the file sharing ability of the Thecus as
before.
