Bjorn, Many thanks! Got it working now.
'sudo chown -R slimserver /usr/share/slimserver/Plugins/Alien' resulted in SC displaying the BBC station list, although they wouldn't play. So I did a 'sudo chown slimserver /usr/share/slimserver/Bin/mplater.sh' and voila, I have BBC radio! I still have a question or three though ... Why does AlienBBC require the slimserver user change? My other plugin ( Extended Alarm ) works fine under root:root. The whole of the rest of the slimserver directory tree is root:root. Should that not also be slimserver:root to maybe avoid future problems with other plugins? I can find no user called "slimserver" on my system so it doesn't appear to have been created. Obviously something went wrong in the install, is it worth uninstalling and trying again? If so, what is the preferred method? Should I download the .deb package and run that or should I use apt-get? -- alanj Cheers Alan Koolu + SC 7 feeding ==> SB3 -> Cyrus 6vs -> KEF iQ7 SB2 -> Super T amp -> Mission 771 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ alanj's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2017 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=40130 _______________________________________________ plugins mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins
