Do I understand you correctly - I dont have a setting - advanced - plugins page / drop down option. Under the settings - plugins tab I have Alienbbc with a green tick on the left and on the right I have settings which if clicked produces the 404 message as described.
As far as I remember I did not override the installation directories I just let both the SC7 and AlienBBC installations work automatically. But to be honest I did not note where the files were placed.
