I have good and bad news: the good news is that I have found and fixed one of the (my) problems. (The bad news is that there is more than one problem!)
The AlienBBC script mplayer.sh was causing problems because, depending upon how squeezecenter starts up, the (path to the) mplayer executable is not found. On my system (and looking at the script, most likely others too) as it stands $app is simply left resolved as "mplayer". Its full path is /usr/local/bin/mplayer. The problem is that /usr/local/bin may, or may not, be on the path - possibly complicated by it running as user "squeezecenter" too. This was the explanation for the curious behaviour where, if I did a squeezecenter restart all of a sudden things seemed to start working. I have modified the mplayer.sh script, a copy is attached. On the basis of very limited testing, this gets me back to this situation (which probably makes more sense to bpa): - I can run squeezecenter from the command line or as a background daemon and the behaviour exhibited is the same; - the Duet controller/receiver so far works fine playing AlienBBC streams; - Softsqueeze starts off alright, but seemingly at random it is still possible to hit the 'stream not playing' problem as described. Since my main target was to get the Duet working properly, there will probably be a pause in my investigations of the softsqueeze problems - I may get a chance to look at the weekend. +-------------------------------------------------------------------+ |Filename: mplayer_sh.txt | |Download: http://forums.slimdevices.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=4702| +-------------------------------------------------------------------+ -- chris_x ------------------------------------------------------------------------ chris_x's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=16025 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=45384 _______________________________________________ plugins mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins
