Alright. Doing nothing on the file until further notice. I suggest you repost a version when you need a new contrib. I am wary of confusion wrt version control or encoding.
FYI, using my system, I found my current switchback policy (switchback only players that were remote-controlled to SN, don't switchback when too close from an alarm) is irritating when other devices (computer or AppleTV) cause the server to wake-up at a random time before the alarm. Having a player switching back to SC in the middle of a radio program is just not correct. So I have decided to investigate Netcontrol to cure the problem, and found in this very thread (! -- thanks to google), that *pichonCalavera* was the one who started the wiki page. I have started to patch up a routine that uses XML::Simple (this I know) and LWP::UserAgent (new for me) to get the playing status of remote players. When this works reasonably well (handling timeouts and other gremlins on the net) I'll post my code for inspiration. (As I understood from the initial postings on the subject, the feature is mostly read-only.
