When the gaps occur - is the music continuous (silent gaps > interrupting music) or does the music skip (i.e. silent gaps replacing > music) > > The former -- there seems to be no gaps in the music just brief > interuptions > No gaps in the music usually indicates a problem somewhere between server and player.
You indicate that CPU is 50% - if you have a dual core processor then this could mean one core is 100% loaded which could result in the symptoms. Another possibility is your wireless is overloaded with two wireless hops. Can you run a network test (from SB3 Extras menu is easiest) and make sure you can get at least 1500kbps sustained for 5 minutes at 100%. This is approx. min speed required for Flac. To change from using transcoding from Flac to MP3 (assuming you have lame installed) - go into Settings/Advanced/Filetypes and disable the RTSP->FLAC and RTSP->WAV settings. The MP3 settings should be the only one enabled. Click Apply. Now try playing a stream - MP3 has smaller CPU load and also lower bandwidth needs than Flac. -- bpa ------------------------------------------------------------------------ bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=55296 _______________________________________________ plugins mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins
