Do you think there is any chance of eliminating the need to pass the administrator password as an argument? I can't see any way of really storing that password without causing folks to scream about potential insecurity. I looked at some of the SHA digest functions and, cryptographic light-weight that I am, it seems like it would be all too easy to recover the password from the prefs file given that the salt would be in plain-text in the plugin code. At most, we would be protecting the system administrative password with what could be construed as merely minor obfuscation.
