Ha! I forgot that. 
This is where stuffing all platform dependant commands into a daemon
could be useful; The standard install process for srvPowerControl could
do the visudo part; or it wouldn't be needed if the daemon runs with
privileges.
On the mac OS front, I looked at keychain ('security' is the
command-line equivalent) but I can't get around the fact pmset wants an
admin account passwd.
So I'm trying the launchd-activated daemon route. Wait and see.
