It'll take time to go through the log file but it has the useful info. At a guess there is a problem with the Plugin supplying the correct Hauppauge device name to VLC.
regarding the setup - I have tested Tunerplayer on an XP system and on Vista downloaded & installed using Extension Downloader. I think I cleaned the systems before installation but sometimes I miss a file and so install may not be perfect on you system. In the custom-convert.conf file the "-I dummy --dummy-quiet" should suppress the GUI.
