The only way I've done it is take the speaker out from my PC and plug it into the line in on my Linux server that runs SC.
You -could- run an SC installation on the laptop with nothing but the wave input plugin and attach the SB to that installation when you want to. If the laptop AND SB are both wireless, you may get problems though.
