Did some recording with audacity.
The only Device stream that let me record was called:
ALSA: Dell Sound Blaster Live!: EMU10K1X Front (hw1,0)
So I guess this confirms that hw1,0 is the correct stream.
However recording only works if I select a project rate of 48000 Hz. If
I select 44100 I get half a second of recorded sound before silence. The
Actual Rate is shown as 48000.
This is the response I get from arecord:
Code:
--------------------
[r...@localhost vegar]# arecord -d 30 -D hw:1,0 -t wav -f cd testrec.wav
Recording WAVE 'testrec.wav' : Signed 16 bit Little Endian, Rate 44100 Hz,
Stereo
Warning: rate is not accurate (requested = 44100Hz, got = 48000Hz)
please, try the plug plugin
overrun!!! (at least 682347484,046 ms long)
overrun!!! (at least 682347484,032 ms long)
etc...
--------------------
If I try dat instead of cd, to record at 48 kHz, I get this:
Code:
--------------------
[r...@localhost vegar]# arecord -d 30 -D hw:1,0 -t wav -f dat testrec.wav
Recording WAVE 'testrec.wav' : Signed 16 bit Little Endian, Rate 48000 Hz,
Stereo
overrun!!! (at least 682347484,122 ms long)
overrun!!! (at least 682347484,025 ms long)
etc...
--------------------
My group file looks a bit different to what you describe. I can find
both audio and squeezecenter in there though:
Code:
--------------------
audio:x:81:
squeezecenter:x:110:
--------------------
This does not tell me much I am afraid.
