That's progress. You have a choice 1. Modify the conf file so that 48kHz is used and sent to players 2. Modify conf to resample (e.g. use ecasound rather than arecord) 48kHz signal to 44.1kHz and then sent to players.
The choice will depend on your players and whether you use more than one source device. The audio groups has no users. The squeezecenter group has no users. You can edit the group file and add the relevant user name to end of "audio" line. If more than one user separate by commas. Permissions take effect on next "login".
