The "accidental activation" and "too difficult to do" things are really due to the touch detection not working very well on this screen - an iPhone 2.x issue that will be fixed in the 3.0 builds (not by just using iPeng on 3.0).
The usability issues root deeper and - as I said - this is going to be re-done.
