Annapolis, MD - about 30mi from Washington DC and Baltimore, MD. Other cheap radios with whip antennas do much better and easily & clearly pull DC and Baltimore stations. AM is so bad that I cannot hear a local Annapolis station above the noise. I wonder if conducted interference from the USB connection is the culprit.
