My experience has been much like Jens'. Technically, the fix does work - the appropriate playlists are delivered eventually by the Custom Browse menu. Like him, I have found performance to be painfully slow - to the point at which the menu isn't really useable. A 2.4 GHz Core 2 Duo iMac with 3 GB of RAM is taking a very long time to process the query (perhaps 10-15 minutes? I haven't yet timed this), consuming some 80-90% of CPU resources. (The music library contains ~9000 tracks.) In contrast, the artist and album sub-menus deliver their contents with barely noticeable delay. Please let me know whether there is additional information I could provide that might prove useful towards finding a solution. (I do realize that Erland is not optimistic.)
