Looks like something caused the spotifyd process to start.
Could you edit line 37 of this file and put a # at the start of the
line to comment out the line which causes the initialisation to fail.
I don't expect this to make it work, but it should mean the plugin
appears on the menus.
I will make sure the next version doesn't fail at this point.
