Yes, it does and sometimes that is what I want (and sometimes
not--hence I switch between your app and his). I like the pop up in
that it helps but it still doesn't prevent entirely what I don't
want--people hitting play and erasing a playlist. That is why I asked
for play now functionality where play/erase just doesn't exist
anymore.

For me to use party mode more frequently, there could be a setting
where you prevent/don't prevent deletion of a playlist the old
fashioned way (by clicking on a trash can) and/or allowing shuffle and
repeat modes to be changed. Not sure how that would work--just trying
to give you my feedback based on what I need/don't need. It sounds
like you heard from folks who run into issues I don't face--the other
settings that are currently out there are nice to have's but I have
never found a reason to use them.

Interesting implications you listed--haven't thought of these but
obviously you think a little more deeply on this stuff than I do. Here
are my reactions.
1--does it have to be this way? Can't you "play" an ablub, have it add
all tracks and then skip to the first track of the album? I'll defer to
you. Also, you lost me on the other Logitech "apps" implication. Not
sure what the issue is
3--Not sure the implications here. What apps would not have a play
next? Would Pandora be one? I can see that being problematic in that
how would Pandora play if it is just one item in a playlist made up of
other items like tracks from iTunes, tracks from Rhapsody and/or tracks
from Slacker. Perhaps on those types of apps where there is not really a
track but a stream (pandora, slacker, radio), this option doesn't apply.
That gets a bit messy in terms of users understanding behavior.
