Unfortunately, you wouldn't be the first person to shelve their
SBController. I've got three of them shelved, myself.

I can wholeheartedly endorse iPeng on the iPod Touch and on the iPad.
SqueezePad on the iPad is good too. They both work seamlessly with
SrvrPowerCtrl. And they both now offer playback from SBS to the
iPod/iPad...so you loose no functionality compared to the Controller.

I've been noticing this sort of flaky behavior with the SBController
since SBS 7.4 was introduced. These sorts of problems just didn't crop
up with the 7.3.x versions of SqueezePlay-on-the-Controller. And these
SqueezePlay based problems are what have kept SrvrPowerCtrl perpetually
in "beta". I can't really justify declaring any version a "release"
when major SrvrPowerCtrl features that work perfectly with the ip3k
based hardware are still broken with the jive/squeezeplay based
hardware. I've had bugs filed against these problems for well over a
year and there has been no movement.
