I just purchased iPeng for iPad and then added the playback functionality.
I can already tell I'll need to get a charging easel/dock for the iPad, so I can display the now playing screen saver. It makes me glad I've been going so anal over artwork. Then I tried playback. With my iPad or my iPhone connected to my network, playback works. So far so good. I hit a snag when I disconnected from my wi-fi and connected to my neighbor's wi-fi as a test. Turns out I wasn't forwarding port 3483 (only did 9000). Also turns out my 3G connection is good enough to stream when driving around, but at work it's pretty iffy. (Note to anyone streaming over 3G - you have to be patient and wait for your iPhone/iPad to show up as a Squeezebox player.)
