Strangeness. The play/pause button worked with various internet radio
apps with iOS 3.

How about making it highly conditional? In other words, when iPeng cold
starts, and iPeng playback is licensed/enabled, and the last player
selected was the iPeng player, then play a short (1 sec?) silent track.
