files in several modes; can you please clarify which of the following
applies in your case?

1) Native Libaray / Native Player: In WMP 12 (say) you browse the
Squeeze Center library "YourLibraryName (by Whitebear)" - you select a
track and select Play To "SqueezeboxName (by Whitebear)" - the
respective track should play on the respective Squeezebox. This is the
most seamless mode.

2) Native Libaray / Other Local Player: In WMP 12 (say) you browse the
Squeeze Center library "YourLibraryName (by Whitebear)" - you select a
track and select Play - the respective track should play on WMP. There
are two sub-sets of this:

2a) where the source and destination have the same format (no
transcoding)
2b) where the source and destination do not have the same format
(transcoding done by Whitebear)

3) Native Libaray / Other UPnP Player: In WMP 12 (say) you browse the
Squeeze Center library "YourLibraryName (by Whitebear)" - you select a
track and select Play To "Some_Other_UPnP_Player" - the respective
track should play on "Some_Other_UPnP_Player".

4) Other Libaray / Native Player: In WMP 12 you browse the WMP library.
You select a track and select Play To "SqueezeboxName (by Whitebear)" -
the respective track should play on the respective Squeezebox. There
are two sub-sets of this:

4a) playing an MP3 file
4b) playing a lossless file

5) For completeness, please note that there is one other option "Other
Libaray / Other Player" but this is irrelevant since Whitebear is not
involved in any way...

Please also note that in the case of 4b) above, the behaviour may
depend on the file format. If the file is a format supported natively
by WMP 12 it works fine. Whereas if it is a format (like flac) where
you need an add-in filter for WMP to support it, then it depends on the
filter you have installed. In my testing, I found that some filters only
support flac streams "coming into" WMP, but do not support flac streams
"going out of" WMP. Personally I found that the flac filter from
XIPH.ORG was excellent.
