I have seen the browser. It was then the only item in the Extras menu. Now I only have the menu but no items in it. I do not think I had an Extras menu in iPeng before the update.
It could be that the menus somehow got recreated after the crash. When the browser had disappeared I looked for it in the My Apps menu and noticed that the order of the apps had changed (Facebook came before Twitter, while it had always been the other way around). A complete shutdown and restart of iPeng put the apps back in order but did not produce the browser.
