OK, I figured out what I did wrong. I changed the path to UNC in MiP, to match LMS, using the MiP GUI. (Actually, I don't see how you can set the path using MiP Headless.) But I'm using MiP Headless to communicate with LMS, and I did not reload the database cache in MiP Headless after changing the path using the GUI. Once I did that, it all works using UNC names.
