Strange.. It's the build the Control Panel asked me up update to
yesterday. 7.7.2. R33869. I do not update anything else other then when
the Control Panel asks me to. That way I can be sure it's an official
version and make sure I don't have an unstable version, but reading
from your reaction it isn't. (?)

The ports you mentioned are all opened and forwarded to the music
server. 
And iPeng does find the server at first, because the Squeezebox player
is always there, also on 3G. But after iPeng is accessing the LMS to
access an album, playlist, etc, LMS hangs and keeps spinning and also
my Squeezebox is disconnected. (also at home the actual Squeezebox
hardware player is disconnected) 
I have to restart the server to get it back again after this.
Does it have to do with caching? I only recently solved a problem i had
for many months with the server getting stuck, while scanning album
art...
