Thanks for the information. There is one additional thing I recently
learned that might be related and that is that you can turn off
pre-caching of artwork. Artwork pre-caching creates pre-rendered
thumbnails which are too small to be useful for iPeng but if it fails
because it runs into an issue with one or more images this seems to
generally affect artwork display.

If you turn that off, thumbnails will only be generated as needed (but
then cached) which is what the server does for iPeng anyway which means
you only get problems when you run into the actual files that can't be
rendered.
