you may be a bit confused about this. One can always use a squeezebox without LMS if you only want internet radio or services (pandora, etc.). You connect your Squeezeboxes to the "LMS in the cloud" (this is called mysqueezebox.com). And various apps for smart phones and tablets will control the squeezeboxes. If you want to also play your own music, you need to be connected to LMS running on a local PC or NAS.
