Thanks for the response, pippin. That's very helpful as I plan my approach. Sounds like using the IOS screensaver gets me close to what I want except for the bit about the display itself turning off, but I expect there's some way around that.
I mis-typed when I mentioned wanting the "sleep" control when an alarm is going off...I meant "snooze" (I don't suppose snooze is available from the lock screen when an LMS alarm is firing?). It's funny, there are a host of little details that conspire to make this solution not all that I'd hoped. On paper, it would seem like an iPod Touch in a decent dock could replace a SB Radio, but the lack of hardware buttons and other little details mean that it's non-ideal. Are there any docks you know of with remotes that let you browse the iPeng interface?
