I'm in the process of reripping my CD collection to FLAC. I'm baffled by an issue I came across when I got to reripping my music from cdr discs. The discs contain music from various artists, so in the tags, the Album Artist is listed as "Various". Track Artist (or just Artist) is listed as whoever performed the particular track.
When I ripped the first cdr, everthing seemed OK. When I go into iPeng, I can find the track by going into the Artist list under the appropriate artist. However, the next cdr I ripped (and the 3rd, and 4th, etc) I cannot find the tracks in the Artist list by the appropriate artist, they are listed under "Various" artist. I checked the tags, and the tags look correct (the artist is listed properly), so I don't understand why I cannot find those tracks under the Artist list? I'm completely puzzled because the tags from the first cdr rip look just like the others, so why are they comming up different in iPeng? Is this an iPeng issue or a LMS issue? I'd like to find everything by a particular artist in one place rather than having to look in multiple places. I've stopped ripping my cdr discs until I can figure this out.
