Don't bother with mixer as yet (IIRC the only I used a mixer for was to
ensure mic/aux input vol was set to zero and my preferred mixers are in
a shell window were amixer or alsamixer).

Before trying getting plugin to work - test recording the PC audio
stream using Audacity.

Start streaming some audio through PC speaker (if there is a choice make
sure applicaiton using Alsa.) such as playing BBC Radio through
browser.
In Audacity preferences make sure interface is ALSA and recording device
is "default" and 2 channel.

Then in Audacity main - click the record button. The application should
start recording a visually see the audio signal and the vol meters at
top - moving showing vols levels. If you hear audio through speakers
but there is no movement in either audio display then chelk the volume
levels in the mixer (e.g. set all vols to max except mic, line in which
are set to zero).

When yiou have got right settings and can record auido in audacity - you
double check using "arecord" and record audio from a command line from
the alsa device. Whatever alsa device works in arecord - that is what
you need to usew in Wavin but make sure syntax is right.
