Sorry don't know. When I got the plugin working with Pulseaudio - it was the preconfigured arecord and alsa emulation in pulseaudio. The entries in the convert.conf file have to provide an audio stream (the format will have been defined defined by preceding line) on stdout which out be "-" instead of out.wav but if parec produces any info/diagnostic output on stdout it will corrupt the audio stream.
