The Waveinput plugin was aimed at redirecting audio from Linux application through LMS to Squeezboxes. Using it to handle analog input is possible but you won't get many comments from user as that is not the main aim of the thread and so your post will not be read by many users. I suggest start a new thread (or a post on the Max2play thread if you are that setup specific) about 1. Whether any user have got the devices working on Odroid digitising analogue input (if so on which OS) 2. What is their opinion on the quality of the device digitising ability and the load on the host OS.
