Flac does work fine and I tried to keep the custom-convert.conf close to your version, i.e. with lame and flac encoding. I get sound, but with more delay and funny behavior if the source stream ended and restarted. As is buffers go crazy. It could take >30sec to hear what my PC played. In the end the setup that I described in my last post just works best for me. And my system has certainly sufficient power to handle all this streaming, encoding, recoding and whatever.
