Not sure if it was needed but i did chmod 777 usr/bin / ffmpeg so i
could check it had installed using the command ffmpeg

For anyone using the pi and squeezeplug i recommend looking through this
thread for the following

Install bpa plugin instructions
changing iplayer menu - bronze posted this
then use the ffmpeg file from expectingtofly above. 

That's it. .. Did i say how brilliant this is :-)
