As for HDS, I would say only pursue it if your crystal ball tells you that the BBC will embrace it for some reason. There are no HDS Listen Again streams, and I would guess there never will be if DASH is really on the horizon. Listen Again has had RTMP+HLS for quite a while, and I would hope the BBC won't waste money on a production pipeline they have never used and likely never will use, but you never know. HDS is used for live streams, but those services are duplicated by the HLS versions already known, and HLS seems likely to continue until the BBC have an alternative for iOS. The HDS live streams are hidden behind an access token, so you still have to hard code the stream URLs in plugin code as with the HLS versions. There doesn't seem to be any advantage to HDS. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ilainftw's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=64122 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=53229 _______________________________________________ plugins mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
