I had a chuckle at that. As I sit here with my 2mbps
with-a-following-wind broadband, and BT saying they have no plans but
may think about upgrading to 'superfast' here by 2018 (to guarantee a
minimum 2mbps...). Not that I would entrust any of my data to the cloud
anyway...

Yes, as expected the UK log you've just posted doesn't get past first
base on the playlist file. Could you post a log of a Listen Again hls
stream that plays please? - so I can get an idea of what does happen
there.

I think quite a few have reported transcoding is fine on the V1 Pi - at
least for one stream at a time. The bitrate doesn't make much difference
to the load. I've got a few Pis here, but don't use them for LMS. It
would probably be ok with server and player on the same pi though, if
you aren't trying to play multiple BBC streams at once. A Pi v2 should
give quite a bit more headroom - only mentioned the B+ because it is
being discounted.

I'm still curious - are you in the UK or not?
