flac settings are :

aiff = flac
flac= native
mp3 = flac/lame
pcm = flac

I have had a look at the manual (a lot) but have to admit I am stumped
as to why the Onkyo won't play flacs as flacs. As you say I am going to
have to try one setting at a time.
I am pretty certain that my LMS transcodes 24/96 properly but perhaps I
am wrong. Does Squeezeplay do the transcoding if your PC output device
is 16/44.1 ?

I should also report that the Onkyo / sq2u will play Spotify OGG Vorbis
via Triode's plugin as PCM 16/44.1
