I didn't quite explain why BBC & Spotify don't work with flc, MP3. The Onkyo reports the Spotify stream as FLAC 16/44.1 but doesn't output anything. I don't think LMS can transcode from Ogg Vorbis to FLAC. BBC streams are mixed depending on whether its live or on demand and both crash the Onkyo with no sound.
I am only doing all this to understand the limitations from the standpoint that lots of people ask me how to "do" digital music and I might start charging them to set it all up.
