Thanks, it is clear that the Naim closes the connection and re-opens it starting from 0 (which is consistent with the fact that 'byte seek' is not an authorized method) - Did you have a chance to try the special version I PM'd you ? Other than that, the Naim not being a low-end player, it might be worth asking them why they do not support 'TCP stalling method' for pause which is the recommended solution for DLNA players.
