I must admit to being a bit confused as to what the best settings are, and what problems can occur. I am in the UK and always use Listen Again, not Listen Live.
Today I got the following. Using iPlayer. Programs seem to run for the first few seconds and then stop. Using iPLayer Extra (Radio 2 for Wednesday) I selected a program in the normal way, but when I tried to play it I got a message "Competition entries have closed" and not the program itself. This happened with several programs, though Radio 4 worked fine. My settings are HLS>DASH for iPlayer, and the checkbox marked for iPlayer Extra (Select if you do not want Dash). iPlayer is 1.4.7 and Extra is 1.9.3. Using a Mac, otherwise I might have tried the latest version of iPlayer. Maybe it is time to change to put DASH first rather than HLS. And while I'm posting can I mention an issue that comes up from time to time that seems different from the rebuffering that people experience. I understand about the six-second chunks.
