> Danae thought really hard for a moment. "She was usually out later than
that." She said at length, "But I saw her car when I got home. The blue one
in the garage." She looked at the woman, who seemed very concerned, more
concerned than she thought people who played with dead people got. "It's not
as bad as you must think. I've always liked the freedom. All my friends have
to report to thier parents like crazy, but I can do whatever I like without
caring." She shrugged.

Frances smiled weakly. "That isn't always a good thing," she told the girl,
"even though it may seem to be." What if she went to the wrong place? Or

to be planted on her shoulders. Particularly with such an attitude.
Anything could happen to her and all because she was still too young to
understand some of the dangers in the world. Frances had seen enough
corpses of young girls who got in to one thing or another over their heads
and she sincerely hoped Danae wouldn't be one of them. Perhaps, Rachel
would be a good influence. "if there's anything you want from your room you
should go collect it now. You won't be able to get back in here for
awhile."
