Jamie
As she whispered to the guy I felt my anger rising fast, come on kid, don't
loose it now, I told myself sternly. I'd heard of the Luna Foundation, but I
was dammed if I was going to give it up to this stuffed shirt! There was
stuff that got talked about on the streets, that they knew stuff...about
people like me. "Seems to me that you only need me for one reason," I told
the couple with a hint of a challenge. "You don't want to get your manicure
ruined...but that's fine, I don't mind getting my hands dirty...for the
right cause." I wanted to know more about these artefacts, it was a museum
or something as well as all the weird shit I'd heard. I looked up at Darien,
he'd been pretty quiet seeing as how he was the one who got me here. "So
this is about money?" I asked him as I felt the first dull throb of a
headache starting behind my temples. Oh hell, not now...please not now, I
needed to think clearly, I didn't need that kind of distraction. My hand
flitted to my knife, more for comfort than any desire to play.
